Around the grounds

Final weekend of friendlies, look closley…. these will be close to the squads that will take the field in next weeks opener.

Hannover 3 Man United 4

Man United Starting 11: Lindegaard (De Gea 46); Keane, Vidic (Valencia 73), Carrick, Evra; Nani, Cleverley, Kagawa, Young (Giggs 46); Rooney, Hernandez (Anderson 73).

Rooney had a hand in all 4 goals; one pen, one free kick and teed up Kawaga and Hernandez. Wheh hes hot, he goes on runs… something to ponder then.

Malaga 1 Everton 0

Everton Starting 11: Howard; Hibbert, Heitinga, Jagielka, Baines; Coleman (Anichebe 63), Neville (Junior 75), Osman, Naismith (Gueye 80); Pienaar; Jelavic (Barkley 82).

Pienaar and Naismith swapping between the hole and the left, both look tempting.

Cardiff 4 Newcastle 1

Newcastle Starting 11: Krul; Simpson, Coloccini, (Williamson 46), S Taylor (Gosling 63), Santon; Marveaux (Vuckic 46), R Taylor (Perch 28), Tiote (Amalfitano 71), Obertan (Campbell 84); Gutierrez; Shola Ameobi

Newcastles first choice defence shipped 4 here.. not good signs. A mostly fringe line up else where, which bodes bad for R.Taylor!

Southampton 0 Udinese 4

Southampton Starting 11: K. Davis (Gazzaniga 46); Clyne, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox (Shaw 46); Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse (S. Davis 46), Lallana; Puncheon (Guly 66), Lambert (Sharp 46), Rodriguez (Chaplow 80)

Clyne and Puncheon both look solid budget purcahses here, at 4.0 and 4.5 respectivley they were both good. Not if you want a clean sheet though!

Fulham 1 Charlton 2

Fulham Starting 11: Schwarzer; Riether, Hangeland, Baird, Riise; Duff, Diarra, Dembele (Sidwell 66), Kacaniklic (Rodallega 54); Ruiz (Frei 81); Petric (Briggs 81)

Petric finally played a game without scoring! Rodallega spent time on the left but moved into a front 2 later.

Augsburg 2 QPR 2

QPR Starting 11: Green; Onouha, Ferdinand, Nelsen, Fabio; Mackie, Derry (Taarabt 46), Park (Faurlin 77), Dyer (Wright-Phillips 46), Hoilett; Cisse (Zamora 77)

Cisse scored both goals looking every bit the good cheap buy. Hoilett provided the assists and looks a great POD

Leicester City 1 Sunderland 0

Sunderland Starting 11: Westwood; O’Shea (Egan, 75), Kilgallon (Meyler,46), Bramble (Cuellar, 46), Richardson (Adams, 75); Elmohamady (Larsson, 46), Cattermole (Knott, 80), Colback, McClean; Gardner; Campbell (Noble, 75)

Sunderland scoreless for the 4th straight match….Unless they buy a striker they could be a fantasy wasteland

Swansea 3 Stuttgart 3

Swansea Starting 11: Vorm; Rangel, Chico, Williams, Taylor; Britton, de Guzman (Agustien 61), Michu (Schechter 72); Dyer, Graham (Gower, 80), Sinclair (Routledge, 61).

Graham bagged a brace and looks irresistable at 6.0, Michu and Dyer made the assists. An attacking swan is a must!

Reading 2 Crystal Palace 0

Reading Starting 11: Federici; Gunter, Gorkss (Mariappa 76), Pearce, Harte; Robson-Kanu (Obita 84), Guthrie, Leigertwood (Tabb 80), McCleary; Le Fondre (Church 71), Pogrebnyak (Hunt 71)

Pog finally scored a goal to put himself back on the radar… Harte played ahead of Shorey, Gunter debuted and looks a nice buy.

Werder Bremen 3 Aston Villa 3

Aston Villa Starting 11: Given; Lichaj, Vlaar, Clark, Stevens (Bannan 65); Holman (Ireland 65), Delph, El Ahmadi, N’Zogbia (Gardner 77); Weimann, Bent.

Bent bagged 2 goals giving us another forward to choose from, N’zogbia was on set pieces.. budget defender Clark scored yet again.

Nottingham Forest 0 West Brom 2

West Brom Starting 11: Foster; Reid (Jara 69), McAuley (Dawson 62), Olsson (Tamas 62), Ridgewell (Jones 46); Yacob (Hurst 81), Mulumbu (Thorne 81) Morrison (El Ghanassy 66); Odemwingie, Long (Fortune 66), Gera (Brunt 69)

West Brom unbeaten in 5 and look tight at the back.. Long their form forward.

Greuther Furth 1 Stoke 1

Stoke Starting 11: Begovic (Sorensen 46); Wilkinson (Jerome 60), Shawcross, Upson (Palacios 60), Wilson; Pennant, Whelan (Whitehead 46), Cameron, Kightly (Delap 76); Walters (Ness 65), Crouch (Jones 65).

The 2 keepers again shared the game.. no idea who gets this gig! Kightly was great on debut playing both flanks and getting right amongst it.

Braga 1 West Ham 1

West Ham Starting 11: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Reid, Collins (O’Neil 76), O’Brien, Tomkins, Diame (Moncur 84), Noble, Vaz Te, Maiga, Cole (Taylor 71)

Tomkins played in midfield, Vaz te shared free kicks with Noble, one more reason not to take Noble?

Ill be back tomorrow morning with the rest of the weekends friendlies, and keep your eyes peeled for a detailed look at the charity shield.
