Round Review – GW6

Reading Time: 1 minute

Well, what a spectacular ending to a spectacular round! All those who switched to 4 at the back formations will be kicking themselves as the goals rolled in, as they were always going to! Lukaku and Suarez will be the talk of the week, but can you go ahead and replace the likes of an in-form Rooney, Sturridge or Benteke to satisfy your weekly knee-jerk? It’s going to be a week of tough decisions, firstly let’s see how we all went!

Other Comments:

Here’s how I did:

Score: 75
Lords: Sturridge, Rooney, Ramsey, Brady, Clyne
Losers: Coleman, Michu, Ozil
Captain: Rooney
Trades: Rooney -> Suarez, Enrique -> Vertonghen
Vent/Brag: A little annoyed Lukaku had to go and dominate as I was enjoying having one of the more successful teams of the round! Captains choices paid off which is always nice.
Other Comments: You’ll probably question my trades, which is fair enough. I think Suarez is going to be the best striker this season so I didn’t want to get left behind their, so Rooney had to cop it. Unfortunately I already had 3 Liverpool players (Hence why I didnt get Suarez this week) so Enrique became Vertonghen. I’m not suggesting you get him, but I’ve had 3.0 in the bank and I don’t know what to do with it!!! What a strange year, the year of the Ramsey…

I hope you all fared as well if not better than me! I’ll be back with transfer talk later tonight. Cheers!

    Score: 73
Lords: Lukaku, Toure, Rooney, Ramsey, Boruc
Losers: Coleman, Ivanovic, Zabaleta, Oscar, Ozil
    Captain: Rooney
    Trades: Oscar -> Suarez
Vent/Brag: Got it right playing Boruc in front of Mignolet but didn’t get it right benching Barkley for Clyne. Very happy bringing in Lukaku for Benteke.
Other Comments: Still not sure what is the best formation to play. With so many upsets the Chelsea, man u and man city defenders aren’t getting maximum points. The week you play 3 at the back the defenders will be awesome and the week you play 4 at the back it will be vice versa. With Rooney, Lukaku and Suarez up front I just need to decide on 3 or 4 in the mids or defenders.

    Score: 46
    Lords: Sturridge, Shaw, Soldado, Giroud
Losers: Coleman, Zabaleta, Dawson, the rest only got 2 each too.
    Captain: Ozil
Trades: Looking at Nolan to Sigurdsson and possibly Zabaleta or Soldado out too.
Vent/Brag: I was rubbish this week. No other way to put it.

    Score: 74 (-4)
    Lords: Lukaku Brady Ramsey
    Losers: RVP Coleman
    Captain: RVP
    Trades: RVP > Suarez
Other Comments: Im not too sure how many points are in that trade(probably none) since RVPs fixtures are looking dandy for a month

    Score: 59 (-4)
    Lords: Lukaku, Brady, Lambert
Losers: Enrique, Sakho, Wilson, Hazard, Michu, Ozil
    Captain: Ozil
Trades: Jenkinson > Walker, Hazard > Ramsey
Vent/Brag: Bought Lukaku = :), but everyone else spudded it for the round
Other comments: Gotta lose one to win one!

    Score: 54
    Lords: Lukaku, Lambert
    Losers: Michu, Ozil
    Captain: Mirallas
    Trades: Not sure yet
Vent/Brag: Brought in Lukaku for Benteke and very glad I did. His score got me over the line in my Addicts H2H 3 league match which will see me sitting 2nd. I want to get Suarez in there but not sure how. Have Lambert Giroud and Lukaku up front with 1.9mill in the bank. What are people’s thoughts on upgrading Mirallas to the like of Yaya Toure?

  7. Dan

    Score: 60
    Lords: Suarez, Rooney
    Losers: Baines, Ozil, Michu, Zabaleta
    Captain: Suarez
    Trades: Zab>Terry
Vent/Brag: On WC last wk yet barring Suarez managed to dodge nearly all the points. Had Amalfitano, Brady, Barkley, Ramsay and Lukaku all in at different stages last week yet my final team ended up without any of them.

  8. Greg Strosaker

    Score: 87
Lords: Front 7 (Giroud, Suarez, Lambert, Barkley, Brady, Yaya Toure, Ramsey) – 81
Losers: Back 4 (Baines, Vertonghen, Mertesakcer subbed in for Evra, Mignolet) – 6
    Captain: Suarez
Trades: Lambert out, Lukaku in. Had to beat the price rise to afford him. Will start rotating to cheaper defenders next, plus need to get rid of Nolan.
Vent/Brag – Suarez in for Benteke. Started Brady for once and it paid off. Moved from 4th to nearly first in one league, first in H2H league, 8th to 2nd in public lead (out of first by 1 point), and 13th to 6th in a very competitive league – was 30th 3 weeks ago.

  9. Rakshit

    Score: 52
Lords: Suarez, Barkley, Lambert, Soldado (sort of)
Losers: Ben arfa, Ozil, Michu, De Gea
    Captain: Michu
    Trades: Used my wild card
Vent/Brag: Well. Brady, Riether and Boruc sit nicely on my bench while Ben Arfa, De Gea and Marc Wilson got me a total of 3 points! Couldve scored 20 points more had my bench played! Atleast I used my wild card well.
Other Comments: Wondering whether to hold on to Ben Arfa for the upcoming GW. Dont know why he was replaced at half time.

    Score: 58 🙁
Lords: Brady, Rooney, Giroud & Sturridge
    Losers: everyone else
    Captain: Rooney
Trades: most likely HBA to Ramsey & Chester to Clyne/Fonte
Vent/Brag: New recruit Rooney did me proud while Michu was dissapointing.
Other Comments: Not aure if I should get rid of Ben Arfa yet as I havent seen any Newcastle games, if anyone has, do you recon he has been looking dangerous enough or do the above trades sound right? I can only do Chester to Clyne/Fonte if I make another trade!

    • Rakshit

I have seen Ben Arfa play 3 or 4 times this season. He’s been a bit hot and cold really. He is most dagerous when he is employed on the right flank and cuts inside. Yesterday he was inexplicably employed on the left flank by Pardew and looked woefully ineffective. Having said that, if Newcastle do score he is likely to be involved. Even i am wondering whether to hold on to Ben Arfa for the upcoming GW. Dont know why he was replaced at half time last night.

    Score: 83
Lords: McGregor, Shaw, Brady, Ramsey, Sturridge, Lukaku, Giroud
    Losers: Whittaker, Coleman, Michu, Ozil
    Captain: Ozil
Trades: RVP, Benteke and Nolan out -> Sturridge, Lukaku and Ozil in
Vent/Brag: Got killed by my buddies for taking a -8 in transfers… but who is laughing now!!! I originally had Sturridge as CAP… then changed to Ramsey… then settled on Ozil.. WHAT!!!
Other Comments: Even with a poor Captain choice, a great week was had.

  12. Go You Gunners

    Score: 43 (-4)
    Lords: Sturridge!! Giroud Remy
    Losers: Coleman Walker Enrique Zab
    Captain: Ozil
Trades: Fer > Amalfitano, Zab >Clyne
    Vent/Brag: terrible week
Other Comments: Had a few tough weeks getting the team sorted out – Am happy now that I have 5 playable defenders, 4 mids and 3 forwards. Have enough in bank to go Remy > Suarez but don’t really feel the need.

  13. Scott

    Score: 70
    Lords: Lukaku, Saurez, Touré
Losers: Ozil, Ben Arfa, Mertesacker, Coleman, Enriqué

Lords: Fonte, Ramsey, Barkley, Yaya, Sturridge, Rooney
    Losers: Walker, Zabaleta, Coleman, Ozil
    Captain: Rooooooooooooooooooooooooooooney

Vent/Brag: After shocking start ive managed to break into top 5000 overall. Despite my 4 defender strategy good to nail big score in sh1t week for defenders! Did bring in Yaya & Rooney this week, so happy that paid off.

Other Comments: Looking at offloading Nolan this week, no idea who to bring in.

  15. baysietoff

    Score: 58

    Losers: Ben Arfa, Eriksen, Wilson
    Captain: Rooney
Trades: Eriksen to Amalfitano done leaving a warchest of 5.2m to use on Suarez of defensive upgrades
Vent/Brag: Any Newcastle supporters here? 🙂

Need to get Suarez I’m but not sure who of Rooney, Remy or Giroud to move on. Might leave it a week…

Well done to some of the monster scores!!!

    • Pritchy

I’m going to leave getting Suarez a week or so as well because I’m also not sure who to drop out of Giroud, Lambert and Lukaku? I’m thinking Lambert but he just scored this week.

    Score: 63
Lords: Ramsey, Sturridge, Barkley, Soldado, Fonte, Boruc
Losers: Vertongen, Ivanovic, Baines, Ozil, Bent
    Captain: Ozil
Trades: Maybe doing Nolan -> Paulinho, Jones -> Davies and Soldado -> Suarez (-8)
Vent/Brag: Call me crazy but I think doubling up Suarez and Sturr sounds perfect in my gut 😀 But I don’t want to lose Tottenham coverage for the next fixture so I need Paulinho too…

    • Pritchy

Very well Brayden. 46 with Ronaldo, Muller, Diego Lopez, Alex Teixeira, Matuidi and Alaba to play. Should I keep Reus (9) captain or should I cap Ronaldo?

      • Brayden

I have Ronaldo captain this week, reckon he will get a couple against weak opposition.
My players to come are Diego Lopez, Eboue, Kucher, Alaba, Vidal, Matudi, Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo (C)

        • baysietoff

15 so far but have nearly my whole team left… Maxwell, Lichtsteiner, Leandro Salino, Srna, Sam, Ronaldo (c), Ibra, Kiessling… Fabregas, Szchesny and Payet played.

Vent/Brag: I have no words for how badly this week went. Oh yeah, my unbeaten record finally ended this week. So yeah, fan-f*ckin-tastic.
Other Comments: On the plus side, Pool won and Mancs lost so whoop dee doo.

  19. Anthony

    Hey Guys,
It would be good if some of the FPL ‘managers’ would get around the Hyundai A-League dreamteams on the Australian FoxSports website and another one on the VirtualSports website? This season is gonna be a good and challenging one!

    Thanks. 🙂
