News Wrap – GW23


Hello and welcome to another edition of the News Wrap. We took a short break for some cup competitions but we are back and raring to go for a big gameweek 23. Many managers will have activated their January Wildcard with the extra week to ponder decisions, so let’s hope this gameweek brings about some big scores. With the previously mentioned cup competitions been in action over the past week there is as always injury news to report on, as well as some key players returning to training. Costa Conundrum

While we wait for the appeal to take place there’s an elephant in the room that needs to be discussed. Diego Costa. It’s been a rough ride owning Costa hasn’t it? Injuries, lean spells, lack of assists and BPs… Now he’s probably gone and got himself a holiday and we’re left to pick up the pieces. A lot of us will have a big decision to make. If you’ve had him all season, you’re going to lose money if you dump him now. But can you afford that much cash on the bench? Are you really doing that well? Fortunately I’ve only had him for a little while so he’ll be out faster than a bad curry. But to whom do we trade to? Let’s consider the alternatives, but I will preface it with a warning. There’s not much out there…

Studs Up – GW22

Bit of a meh round that one wasn’t it? Looking at the FPLaddicts league there were a lot of scores in the 40-50s which isn’t huge, but not too ordinary either. Man City definitely helped with that feeling by failing to to ANYTHING at Arsenal, and those early Aguero jumpers would’ve felt pretty disappointed. They (read “we”) did save some money on the future jumpers though?
