The Stock Market – GW28

Reading Time: 3 minutes

With midweek fixtures starting TONIGHT, it’s time for a brief overview of the big players from last weekends games!

On The Rise

Fuchs – My pick of the Leicester defenders proved his worth over Huth last gameweek by collecting all 3 bonus points in their last gasp victory. Fuchs is on set pieces and loves a cross or three, get him in!

Arnautovic – Finally back in the starting XI, Arnie proved his worth by bagging a brace against (a poor) Aston Villa. Should we all go rushing to bring him into our squads? I’m not convinced, but we need some differentials! With Stoke playing Newcastle at home this week, I feel it’s now or never. Make your decision, I’d suggest if you have an underperforming player then go for it!

Ozil – I don’t need to add anything here, just make sure you have him in your side at all costs. Reliable captain material!

Lukaku – Surprisingly everyone is jumping straight back on the Everton bandwagon, I guess a game at Villa Park is awfully tempting. With another blank gameweek just around the corner, I’d hold off unless you have a quality bench. He’s hardly a differential at 34% ownership!

Costa – Diego Costa continues to get a lot of love, but I’m not feeling it. There’s much better alternatives out there at cheaper prices. You’ve been warned!

Alli – In the absence of Moussa Dembele, it was Dele Alli who dropped into a deeper midfield role against Swansea. Don’t be put off by that move though, it was only temporary. He also made 4 key passes, a personal best! Alli is however under an injury cloud which is a concern. I’d still have him starting, apparently he still trained and I expect him to play.

Payet – For whatever reason, Bilic has decided to start playing Payet out wide. Here’s a hint, IT’S NOT WORKING! Payet looked far more dangerous towards the end of the game once he had come central. With games against Spurs and Everton followed by a blank, Payet is far from untouchable. If it helps your team structure, don’t feel you need Payet for the next few weeks. I however will back him in!

Sanchez – It really has been an awful fall from grace. You simply can’t justify selecting Alexis over Ozil, and owning both is going to be tough. Keep Sanchez on the watchlist, but I’d definitely trade him if you’re still an owner. It’s not looking good for the Gunners right now, hopefully they can turn it around against Swansea!

Ighalo – Last weeks blank at home against Bournemouth was the final straw for many, although that was 3 or 4 straws too late. Thanks for your service all year Odion, but it’s time to go.

Giroud – Hopefully you all listened! Never an FPL option, safely put him on your never again lists and be done with it!

Player of the Week

Rashford – Wow! This kid has come from literally nowhere to dominate United’s last 2 fixtures. With 4 goals and an assist from his 2 first team starts, do we consider him for our benches at 4.6? Answer, very unlikely. Most of us will own 3 starting strikers (I suggest that you do) and there’s no way Rashford will keep this up.  Just enjoy it Reds fans!

Before you go, here’s my top 3 captaincy picks for the midweek games:

  1. Ozil
  2. Aguero
  3. Vardy

It’s a must win game for Arsenal, no exceptions. Ozil has been doing it consistently all season and is a safe bet again this week. Aguero gave Liverpool the run around in last Sunday’s capital one cup final, and you can expect him to do the same again on Wednesday. He’s always a reliable pick. I like the fact that Vardy is on penalties, Leicester always seem to be in the hunt for a spot kick or two. They should beat West Brom and you’d expect the Vahrez duo to get involved. All 3 are quality picks!

Good luck, let’s make it a high scoring gameweek!

Forgot to press the “bench boost” chip on my team for this week, after planning all along to. Next minute.. 16 points on the bench and counting!
