Studs Up Skippers GW17

Reading Time: 2 minutes

skippers

Hi all, Christmas is getting close and the articles are lining up on FPL Addicts! Welcome to the new writers, your insights are very much appreciated. Time for me to bring my contribution now and help you pick the best captain.

The Top 3

1.        Harry Kane

Fixtures couldn’t be better for Spurs these days, making their lead striker an interesting proposition. The only issue is the king of inconsistency (AKA Eriksen) stealing the thunder! Seeing Kane not score a single goal or assist against Hull was extremely frustrating but I will back him up again this week. I like some consistency in my captain choices and with Eriksen you never know when the run of form is going to end.

The pros: great fixture at home (Burnley), should be the focal point of Spurs attack
The cons: blanked in the last 2 games (including Hull at home), Eriksen stealing the thunder

2.     Diego Costa

Now if you’re talking consistency, Diego Costa is your man. He had a surprising blank against Sunderland but he’s still the most reliable player in FPL this year and he’s playing a not-so-defensive-minded Palace. He only has 3 double figure hauls this season though, that’s the main downside.

The pros:  great fixture, Mr Consistent
The cons: a bit light on the double figure hauls

3.   Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Back in the top 3 after…I don’t even remember how many weeks. With 5 goals and 1 assist in the last six games though, he looks like he’s finally finding his pace and converting those chances. Despite the age, he is an absolutely amazing player and I do hope he’s going to prove it to the EPL, starting this weekend against West Brom

The pros: good form and consistency in the last 6 games
The cons: Man U still a bit shaky, West Brom not doing too bad this year

The punt

Dimitri Payet

This choice is obviously more fixture than form-based. Payet is only average in form this year with 2 goals and 7 assists so far but to be fair his whole team is struggling. A home game against Hull is the chance to get the precious three points, with the Tigers having conceded 10 goals in their last 3 away games!

The pros: great fixture at home
The cons: average form

Thanks guys. Hope this has helped!

Was thinking Sanchez because Citeh have been conceding goals pretty regularly and expecting Arsenal to score plenty at the Etihad. What do you think of that?

In the form that he’s in right now, he’ll always be a good shout. But I see better options this week though
