Merry Christmas to you all! May Santa bring you a good captain choice for boxing day (not better than mine though) 🙂
The Top 3
1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic
With Mr Consistent (aka Diego Costa) suspended, Zlatan is the in form striker of the hour. He scored 7 goals in the last seven EPL games, only blanking twice during that period. He did well on bonus too, accruing a total of 12 points! With this form, a home game against Sunderland looks like Fantasy gold.
The pros: great fixture at home, great form
The cons: ?
2. Alexis Sanchez
The man of the hour on the midfield side is certainly Alexis Sanchez. He scored a massive 6 goals and 3 assists in the last five gameweeks, not blanking once during that period. He also has a home fixture, as West Brom is traveling to the Emirates. But the Baggies are pretty solid this season: despite the lack of clean sheets, they conceded more than one goal on the road only once (against Liverpool too).
The pros: great form, highly explosive midfielder (playing as a striker basically), home fixture
The cons: West Brom has been solid so far this season (even away)
3. Eden Hazard
With Costa suspended, it looks like Hazard will have to step his game up as Bournemouth visit Stamford Bridge. Although he’s been surprisingly quiet lately (only 1 goal in the last six EPL games), the Belgian has got the skills to make an impact…especially at home.
The pros: good fixture at home, should have a more central role with Costa suspended
The cons: form is quite average (last 6 games)
With Coutinho injured, Mane has been the Red’s midfielder of choice (damn you Firmino!). Two goals and 3 assists in the last four games even allowed him to grab the third position in the general Midfielders ranking. A home game to Stoke city is a good opportunity to add to his tally. As usual, the downside is that it’s hard to predict who’s going to score for Liverpool. As I just ditched Firmino, there’s a high chance that he scores all the goals tomorrow 🙂
The pros: good fixture at home, great form
The cons: the Liverpool conundrum
Thanks guys. Hope this has helped!
